Samuel Lloyd Mouldings Ltd is one of the leading manufacturers of rotary moulded lids for the waste and recycling industry in Europe.

The company’s lids are used on a wide range of products from 400 litre four-wheeled bins up to 30 cubic metres, roll-on/roll-off hook lift containers.

Our 4.5 metre carousel moulding machine is one of the largest and most advanced in Europe. A recent modification gave a unique oven entry and exit motion to the machine arms which reduced the gas needed to heat the oven by 30% giving good efficiency and great environmental benefit.

With four arms each giving a six-axis moulding action, the carousel can take six lid tools per arm, giving a daily production capacity of 576 lids, or 144,000 per annum.

Our customers have asked Samuel Lloyd if we can mould larger waste and recycling products such as litter bins and other street furniture products.

To meet this requirement in 2023 we installed a 4 meter x 3 arm shuttle machine which can mould these large items as well as giving extra moulding capacity to back up our Carousel lid manufacturing machine.

The shuttle action allows us to mould tools on each arm at different cooking temperatures and time intervals. This flexibility allied to computer controlled efficiency still gives an enhanced production capacity capability.
